Tabernacl Chapel apartment is part of a converted development which overlooks the beautiful Church Bay in the heart of Aberdovey/Aberdyfi.

This ground floor apartment is beautifully furnished and decorated with a relaxing light and airy feel. Tabernacl is set back from the road with limited views over Aberdyfi's Church Bay and the estuary beyond. In a bygone age, Church Bay was used by the fishermen to dry their nets and moor their boats, this tradition is still followed by the local fishermen today.

Further afield you can explore the Ynys-Hir RSPB Reserve which is a wildlife haven in the heart of Wales, made famous by the BBC Spring Watch programme, The Dyfi Osprey Project (please follow the link to watch live: http://www.dyfiospreyproject.com/live-streaming), The Ceredigion Heritage Coast along Cardigan Bay, the Caber Idris mountain range and not forgetting the lakes, small towns and villages, picturesque resorts and harbours.

Aberdyfi / Aberdovey

The picturesque harbour village of Aberdyfi / Aberdovey is renowned for its mild climate, sandy beaches, sailing and a championship 18-hole links golf course (rated in the UK's top 100). The village is often referred to as “an artist's paradise” with its pastel-coloured cottages, small shops, inns and excellent restaurants which specialise in local seafood, all helping to create a relaxed welcoming atmosphere.

Aberdyfi / Aberdovey boasts some of the finest beaches in Britain, with four miles of golden sand-dune backed shoreline running north to Tywyn, home of the world-famous Talyllyn narrow gauge Steam Railway, crab fishing and the famous Dyfi Donkeys. The beaches are popular with sunbathers, swimmers, surfers and fishermen while the estuary attracts a wide range of water sports enthusiasts.

The peaks of the Cader Idris and Aran Fawddwy ranges are within easy reach and are complemented by the charm of the Dyfi, Dysynni and Tal y Llyn valleys nearby. An ideal area for walkers, climbers and wildlife watchers, and a wonderful all-year-round location.

Booking and Payment

Dyfi Cottages & Aberdyfi Holidays is a marketing agency and we do not own or manage any of the accommodation listed on our websites. Bookings made via us form a legal agreement between you and the property owner. 

For bookings made more than 8 weeks before arrival a 30% deposit (plus the £24 non-refundable booking fee) is required at the time of booking. The balance is then due 8 weeks before the holiday commences.

For bookings made less than 8 weeks before arrival, the total amount is payable (plus the £24 non-refundable booking fee) at the time of booking.

Security Deposit

Security deposits are not normally required. Please note that guests are still liable for any damage, breakages or additional cleaning required as a result of their actions.

Arrival & Departure times

Arrival time is from 4 pm/ Departure time is no later than 10 am.

Short Breaks

Short breaks are available out of season and can be booked for a minimum of 3 nights from the following days:

  • Friday to Monday for a 3-night weekend break
  • Monday to Friday for a 4-night midweek break

During November to February arrival days may be more flexible nearer the time although these exclude Sundays and any holidays.

Bed Linen

Bed linen and towels are provided.

Heating & Electric

Heating and electric are included in the accommodation price.

Infant facilities

Sorry, there are no infant facilities available. Guests are very welcome to bring their own travel cot.

Pets

Regrettably, pets are not accepted.

Wi-Fi

Complimentary Wi-Fi is available. Please note, the owner cannot guarantee the availability or speed of the service as this is dependent on third-party suppliers.

Parking

There is one free car pass provided in the apartment for the ‘pay & display’ car parks in Aberdyfi. The nearest one is 200 metres away near the beach (spaces are subject to availability). Sorry, the owners are unable to provide additional car passes.

Location

1 Tabernacl is one of several apartments within a converted chapel. Situated just off the main road and a short walk to the shops, pubs, restaurants and beach.

Access, Health & safety

The maximum occupancy is 5 guests (this does not include an infant in a travel cot).

The main road through the village can get quite busy. Please be mindful of cars appearing suddenly when exiting from the gates at the bottom of the steps and the side gate on the path. Children are to be supervised at all times. 

Although this is a ground floor apartment, there are a number of steep steps that lead up to Tabernacl's main front door and a further three large steps to enter the main building. There is an inclined path that runs up the left-hand side of the building if you want to avoid the steep steps.

Please contact us immediately if there are any specific needs you may have, including disability needs. It is essential that we are given as much information as possible about your requirements to avoid booking an unsuitable property. Some locations do not lend themselves to easy access and facilities, so please ask first to avoid disappointment.

The choice is ultimately the responsibility of the person booking the property, and we cannot be held responsible should a property be booked that is unsuitable or inappropriate.

Enjoyed our grandmother/mother/daughter break! The bluebells between Pennal and Machynlleth were stunning. Coffee at Y Bwtri Blasus the best. Good accommodation, wonderful sea views. The mountain road from Machynlleth to Llanidloes is awesome for views too!
