This attractive cottage is ideally placed for couples and small groups to explore the Ceredigion Heritage Coast, placing you close to fantastic beaches famed for their water sports and scenery.

Situated within walking distance of Aberdovey’s bustling streets yet far enough removed for privacy, this traditional fisherman’s cottage is an idyllic retreat for up to four guests. The beach awaits just a 0.5-mile walk away, boasting a pretty jetty where you can try your hand at crabbing, or why not arrange to try water sports during your stay? Aberdovey is renowned for its sailing opportunities, or for the keen golfers, the 18-hole championship golf course is just 0.5 miles away too. For walkers, you’ll have the scenic coastal path to enjoy, but no visit is complete without admiring the varied wildlife at the Ynys-hir RSPB reserve. There’s so much to keep you entertained and when it is time to satisfy your appetite, there are plenty of cafes, bistros, and restaurants to choose from.

Step through the entrance to find the bright and welcoming lounge/diner, a cheerful living space that has been thoughtfully furnished with two deep sofas, a coffee table and a compact dining table with ample seating for four. There is a TV for watching films, and on chilly evenings, the flame-effect gas fire is a thoughtful addition that adds further character along with the original beams overhead. A doorway leads through to the galley-style kitchen which also features timber beams and tiled flooring. Modern worktops, stylish units and lots of gadgets provide all the essentials for whipping up delicious meals and clearing away afterwards including an electric combi oven and hob, a fridge, freezer, dishwasher. There’s also a handy cloakroom/utility area with a washing machine, plus a lobby area with hanging space for storing coats. Steep and open-sided stairs lead up to a narrow hallway that reveals the bedrooms, both neat yet comfortable with double beds and simple storage. Completing the property is a useful bathroom with a walk in shower.

On arrival, you’ll be immediately greeted by the pleasant outdoor space when you climb up the two steps and take a moment to rest at the garden furniture. This space isn’t enclosed, but on warm evenings you’ll be able to unwind with your favourite drink and dine alfresco. A permit is supplied for one car to use at one of the nearby car parks.

A clean and tastefully furnished character cottage, in a perfect position a couple of minutes' walk from the waterfront of this delightful town. Great having outside space with table, chairs and umbrella at the front - a real suntrap. Only slightly irksome thing was the combi microwave/fan oven, which I doubt many would be familiar with. FortunatelRead morey the manual is to hand - just remember, oddly, you have to press a start button after every time you open the oven door. Would definitely return. Hide

Overall the cottage was very clean and in good condition, with clear simple instructions and tips for local areas. The area was perfect for our needs and would consider returning to Aberdovey in future.

A small but well appointed and clean cottage right in the heart of Aberdovey close to all amenities. We were able to park for both drop off at arrival and to pack up at the end of the week with no problem. The car park was fairly close anyway. The surrounding area is stunning with both the Dovey and Mawdawch estuaries providing great vistas. We lovRead moree the area and hope to come back soon. Hide

This cottage is lovely. It is quite compact and possibly a bit small for 4 adults.. For us - being just a couple it was perfect. It is an old property with modern features and all care has been taken to renovate it. It is in a perfect location, very comfortable and has the benefit of a lovely front terrace to greet all passers by!
