A striking, traditional, seaside home, set in an enviable position in the popular Welsh village of Aberdyfi, with views out across the beach and beautiful Cardigan Bay.

Stroll over to the golden sands of Aberdyfi from this seafront holiday home, less than 10 metres from the beach. Play games here, paddle, swim and enjoy water sports. Also well positioned for the village’s shops and eateries, the four-storey property boasts five bedrooms and can sleep up to ten guests, making it perfect for an extended family break or a getaway for two families together. Take a canine companion along with you too and enjoy beautiful walks through Snowdonia: embark on a circular, 10-mile walk from the village, through the hills to Llyn Barfog or the Bearded Lake. Drive 9.5 miles into the national park to see the Dolgoch Falls.

Open the front door of this handsome holiday home and find yourselves in an entrance hall leading to the bright kitchen/diner. Spread out and enjoy this large space, where you can watch the wall-mounted TV, cook together and perch at the breakfast bar for a chat over a glass of chilled wine. The kitchen area features a double electric oven and gas hob, large American-style fridge/freezer, dishwasher, slimline wine cooler, toaster and kettle and there is a long dining table where you can all gather together to enjoy the fruits of your labour. There is also a useful utility room, with washer/dryer and space for drying damp outdoor gear. Climb the stairs to a small landing leading to a shower room with WC and handbasin, then head on up to the second floor to discover the lounge, with its bay window with window seat, where you can gaze out over the bay, towards the mountains beyond. Watch the Smart TV with Freeview and Sky TV in here too or enjoy a DVD. Find a double bedroom, with small TV also on the first floor. Venture up to the floor above to find a fabulous double bedroom, with dressing room, TV and open en-suite shower room with WC and handbasin. There is also a bunk bedroom with 3ft beds. Make your way up to the third floor to find a family shower room with WC and handbasin, and two double bedrooms, one with dressing area and TV with Freeview.

There is a small rear yard at the property, with an outside shower for washing off the sand. There is no parking at the house but a pass for the village’s pay and display car parks is provided. One of these car parks is opposite the house.

Dogs are charged at £20 each per full or part week.

Mid-West Wales is a land full of green hills and clear seas. With the spine of the Cambrian Mountains to the east and the hidden coves of the Ceredigion coastline carving out marvellous openings all along the western shoreline, it’s a mecca for those who crave outstanding natural surroundings. There are also charming villages and quaint seaside towns dotted here and there, giving you the chance to try a regional delicacy or speak to some friendly locals.

A thriving harbour resort just within the Snowdonia National Park boundaries, Aberdovey, meaning river mouth, also lies inside Wales’ only UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, the Dyfi Biosphere. With Cader Idris looming in the distance, Aberdovey enjoys a complementary fusion of dense woodland and a golden beach where the River Dyfi meets Cardigan Bay.

Also near the River Dyfi are Pennal and Cwrt, two villages which lie on the River Sychan, which feeds the River Dyfi. Small in size but with natural grandeur, these villages have walks which provide magnificent vistas and if you’re lucky, you may even spot wild otters holding hands by the river’s edge.

Moving away from the river, you can follow the ‘Happy Valley’ which leads all the way to Tywyn. You’ll pass scenic splendour as the road twists and turns past the ‘Bearded Lake’. Tywyn is a beautiful seaside base for all types of excursions. Stroll the large, sandy beach or visit the Talyllyn Railway, that journeys deep into the hills.

We have a handpicked collection of self-catering properties along southern Snowdonia on the banks of the Dyfi Estuary. Whether it’s Aberdovey, Pennal and Cwrt or Tywyn, we’ve got dog-friendly, large, luxury and coastal accommodation to suit your needs.
