An appealing, Welsh village home with two outside spaces, and within easy reach of the golden beach at Aberdyfi, the jetty for crabbing and the many footpaths of scenic Snowdonia.

Discover the beauty of the Dyfi Estuary, Cardigan Bay and Snowdonia National Park when you stay at this light holiday home in the appealing seaside village of Aberdyfi. Up to six guests and one canine companion are welcome at the property, which has three bedrooms and outside space to the front and back. Spend days down on the beach, less than 500m away, where you can enjoy swimming, a picnic and water sports. Venture into the national park to follow footpaths and trails. Drive 4 miles to Llyn Barfog or 10 miles to Dolgoch Falls to see the beauty spots and to enjoy walks in the surrounding area.

Wander through the front door into the hall and then amble on into the open-plan lounge/diner. Look out towards the sea from the window or settle on the sofa in here to watch your favourite programme on the Smart TV. Enjoy a film or listen to some relaxing music on the Bluetooth stereo. Head into the kitchen to put the kettle on and to decide what to make for dinner. This room is well equipped with an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge, table-top freezer, dishwasher, coffee machine, kettle and toaster. Eat together in the dining room, where you can open the doors on to the courtyard garden on balmy days. As day turns to night, climb the stairs to one king size bedroom, one double bedroom or the bunk bedroom, which has 3ft beds. The retro-style family bathroom with bath, handheld and overhead shower, WC and handbasin is also here. The owner provides a variety of games and entertainment - check inside the foot stool for your game of choice.

Bask out in the sunshine to the front of the cottage and watch the world go by or take your book and a cup of tea out into the courtyard garden at the back. Dine out here too on warm days. Find parking for two cars at the cottage.

A pleasant and comfortable house, very well equipped. It has a lovely aspect.across the estuary and Aberdovey beach and village amenities are within a five minute walk. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and intend to stay there again next year.

Map
Note: As the postcode is used to identify the general area of the property, it may not always reflect its precise location, therefore please only use this map as a guide.

Mid-West Wales is a land full of green hills and clear seas. With the spine of the Cambrian Mountains to the east and the hidden coves of the Ceredigion coastline carving out marvellous openings all along the western shoreline, it’s a mecca for those who crave outstanding natural surroundings. There are also charming villages and quaint seaside towns dotted here and there, giving you the chance to try a regional delicacy or speak to some friendly locals.

A thriving harbour resort just within the Snowdonia National Park boundaries, Aberdovey, meaning river mouth, also lies inside Wales’ only UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, the Dyfi Biosphere. With Cader Idris looming in the distance, Aberdovey enjoys a complementary fusion of dense woodland and a golden beach where the River Dyfi meets Cardigan Bay.

Also near the River Dyfi are Pennal and Cwrt, two villages which lie on the River Sychan, which feeds the River Dyfi. Small in size but with natural grandeur, these villages have walks which provide magnificent vistas and if you’re lucky, you may even spot wild otters holding hands by the river’s edge.

Moving away from the river, you can follow the ‘Happy Valley’ which leads all the way to Tywyn. You’ll pass scenic splendour as the road twists and turns past the ‘Bearded Lake’. Tywyn is a beautiful seaside base for all types of excursions. Stroll the large, sandy beach or visit the Talyllyn Railway, that journeys deep into the hills.

We have a handpicked collection of self-catering properties along southern Snowdonia on the banks of the Dyfi Estuary. Whether it’s Aberdovey, Pennal and Cwrt or Tywyn, we’ve got dog-friendly, large, luxury and coastal accommodation to suit your needs.
