Surrounded by glorious landscapes and views of the River Dyfi flowing into Cardigan Bay, this stunning property provides an unforgettable base for discovering the pretty seaside village of Aberdyfi (also known as Aberdovey) and the breathtaking vistas of the magnificent Snowdonia National Park. Aberdyfi sits along the northern shore of the River Dyfi and is host to a range of great outdoor activities including sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and fishing. The village also has plenty of friendly pubs, restaurants, cafes and independent shops. The property is set in a beautiful spot just opposite a fantastic championship golf course, with the beautiful golden sandy beach also nearby. Heading into Snowdonia, landmarks include Craig yr Aderyn and Dolgoch Falls (both within 15 miles).

The property is accessed via a couple of external flights of stairs which lead through the garden and up into the welcoming slate-tiled and gabled hallway. Exploring this floor, you will find the spacious, light and airy open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. This beautiful light-filled space features a fresh and relaxing lounge with plenty of seating, a Smart TV and a warming wood burner. The stylish dining area is perfect for everyone to gather around and enjoy a fantastic celebratory meal which you can rustle up in the fully equipped kitchen where you will find an electric oven and gas hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave and a handy additional breakfast bar. Other equipment – including the wine fridge, washing machine and tumble dryer – can be found in a nearby utility space. This bright and idyllic living space is dominated by the large folding panelled windows which open out onto a fantastic decked balcony. Offering views over the Dyfi Estuary, the golf course and out across Cardigan Bay, the balcony has plenty of garden furniture and provides a fabulous space for dining alfresco or enjoying a glass or two of wine as the sun sets. Returning inside, the ground floor also features a snug TV room with a TV, Smart DVD player and plenty of seating, perfect for children to get away from the adults. This floor also has a bathroom complete with a bath, walk-in shower and WC, as well as the first of the property’s bedrooms. The super-king-size bedroom has plenty of storage space and patio doors opening out onto the decked balcony. Stairs lead past a glass facade with stunning views and up to a spacious landing. Here, you will find the two remaining bedrooms, each with a king-size bed and an additional single bed; these rooms both have spectacular views and plenty of storage space, and one of them has an en-suite shower room with a shower and WC. There’s also a handy first-floor bathroom with a shower over the bath and a WC.

Stepping outside, a couple of flights of stairs lead back down into the pretty garden where you will find a peaceful seating area. On-street parking is available for up to three cars opposite the property. There’s also unsecured storage space along the rear walkway.

We have stayed at Hauldy on a number of occassions and have already booked 2 more stays. It is a great property in a stunning location within walking distance of Aberdyfi but far enough removed to avoid any crowds. Importantly there is ample parking, which is always at a premium in Aberdyfi on the summer.

The location is excellent, close enough to the village but just out of the main centre so feels very peaceful and private. The views from the balcony are second to none. Will definitely return!

This is the third time we have stayed here and we will be retuning again next year. Incredible views and a lovely walk in to the village. The house is spacious and well equipped and maintained. A really lovely stay.

Map
Note: As the postcode is used to identify the general area of the property, it may not always reflect its precise location, therefore please only use this map as a guide.

Mid-West Wales is a land full of green hills and clear seas. With the spine of the Cambrian Mountains to the east and the hidden coves of the Ceredigion coastline carving out marvellous openings all along the western shoreline, it’s a mecca for those who crave outstanding natural surroundings. There are also charming villages and quaint seaside towns dotted here and there, giving you the chance to try a regional delicacy or speak to some friendly locals.

A thriving harbour resort just within the Snowdonia National Park boundaries, Aberdovey, meaning river mouth, also lies inside Wales’ only UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, the Dyfi Biosphere. With Cader Idris looming in the distance, Aberdovey enjoys a complementary fusion of dense woodland and a golden beach where the River Dyfi meets Cardigan Bay.

Also near the River Dyfi are Pennal and Cwrt, two villages which lie on the River Sychan, which feeds the River Dyfi. Small in size but with natural grandeur, these villages have walks which provide magnificent vistas and if you’re lucky, you may even spot wild otters holding hands by the river’s edge.

Moving away from the river, you can follow the ‘Happy Valley’ which leads all the way to Tywyn. You’ll pass scenic splendour as the road twists and turns past the ‘Bearded Lake’. Tywyn is a beautiful seaside base for all types of excursions. Stroll the large, sandy beach or visit the Talyllyn Railway, that journeys deep into the hills.

We have a handpicked collection of self-catering properties along southern Snowdonia on the banks of the Dyfi Estuary. Whether it’s Aberdovey, Pennal and Cwrt or Tywyn, we’ve got dog-friendly, large, luxury and coastal accommodation to suit your needs.
