A bijou cottage for four set in a quiet village location close to Aberdyfi beach, with the southern fringes of Snowdonia National Park nearby.

Enjoy a stay in a traditional coastal cottage at this charming property, set close to the centre of Aberdyfi. This two-bedroom retreat, which sleeps four guests and  welcomes two small dogs, is ideal for a family and is perfectly positioned for reaching shops, pubs and cafes, as well as the beach which is 400m away. From here, explore Cardigan Bay, with its beautiful beaches and coastal walks - on which you can sometimes spot seals, dolphins and porpoises. Head into Snowdonia as well. Lace up your walking boots and attempt a circular, 10-mile walk from Aberdyfi, through the national park to Llyn Barfog, also known as the Bearded Lake.

Step straight through the front door into the lounge/diner. Unwind in here together after your long walks and days out at the beach. Watch the Smart LCD TV, or a DVD perhaps. Take turns at whipping up tasty holiday meals in the kitchen area, with its electric oven and grill, gas hob, microwave, fridge, kettle and toaster, then serve up at the large table back through in the main living area. There is also a shower room with WC on this floor. Climb the stairs up to the first floor to lay your head on your pillow after each exhilarating day out. Choose between the double bedroom and the bunk bedroom with 3ft bunks.French doors lead out from the bunk bedroom onto the decked seating area at the rear. Also on this floor is a separate WC with hand basin.

Sit out on the bench in front of the cottage to take in the sea air or relax outside on the small private terrace at the back, where you might like to dine on warm summer evenings. This was a lovely little place. Perfect location for the beach with two children. Well maintained and well stocked with essentials. We would book again. The only thing I thought to mention was there is a smell of damp with the windows closed, and paint is falling slightly from the ceiling in the bunk room and upstairs toilet. Not a problem as such Read morebut it is a bit stale. But....we loved it!! Had a super week thank you. Hide

Fantastic location. The house was really comfortable and felt like home. There was everything we needed. Great little out door balcony for eating outdoors., and a glass of wine whilst the sun dies down. Would definitely recommend.

Nice property for a long weekend as family of four with good access to village centre - car park pass was useful too, however, it really is tucked away from the main street - pay attention to the booking instructions on how to find the property at first.

Cottage in lovely location for the beach. It was tricky to find as it was hidden away in a little lane and you have to drop off your luggage on road which can get busy. Cottage has a very compact kitchen & shower but overall very clean & comfy

Map
Note: As the postcode is used to identify the general area of the property, it may not always reflect its precise location, therefore please only use this map as a guide.

Mid-West Wales is a land full of green hills and clear seas. With the spine of the Cambrian Mountains to the east and the hidden coves of the Ceredigion coastline carving out marvellous openings all along the western shoreline, it’s a mecca for those who crave outstanding natural surroundings. There are also charming villages and quaint seaside towns dotted here and there, giving you the chance to try a regional delicacy or speak to some friendly locals.

A thriving harbour resort just within the Snowdonia National Park boundaries, Aberdovey, meaning river mouth, also lies inside Wales’ only UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, the Dyfi Biosphere. With Cader Idris looming in the distance, Aberdovey enjoys a complementary fusion of dense woodland and a golden beach where the River Dyfi meets Cardigan Bay.

Also near the River Dyfi are Pennal and Cwrt, two villages which lie on the River Sychan, which feeds the River Dyfi. Small in size but with natural grandeur, these villages have walks which provide magnificent vistas and if you’re lucky, you may even spot wild otters holding hands by the river’s edge.

Moving away from the river, you can follow the ‘Happy Valley’ which leads all the way to Tywyn. You’ll pass scenic splendour as the road twists and turns past the ‘Bearded Lake’. Tywyn is a beautiful seaside base for all types of excursions. Stroll the large, sandy beach or visit the Talyllyn Railway, that journeys deep into the hills.

We have a handpicked collection of self-catering properties along southern Snowdonia on the banks of the Dyfi Estuary. Whether it’s Aberdovey, Pennal and Cwrt or Tywyn, we’ve got dog-friendly, large, luxury and coastal accommodation to suit your needs.
