Pack a beach bag and head just over the road to the golden sands from this attractive second-floor apartment in Aberdyfi, Mid Wales. Sleeping four guests, the two-bedroom property also welcomes one dog and is in an excellent position for picking up the Welsh Coast Path and strolling along beside Cardigan Bay, looking out for dolphins, porpoises and other wildlife. Enjoy your proximity to the village’s shops, cafes and restaurants or drive 4 miles to Tywyn for a different choice of eateries and to spend time on the beach there. Plan day trips out into Snowdonia. Drive 14.5 miles to Corris in the scenic national park to take the children to see the underground attraction of King Arthur’s Labyrinth.

Enter the building via the shared front door and climb two sets of stairs to reach your private entrance. Stroll inside to find an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, with views out towards the sea. Relax in here, watching the boats out on the water as they come and go, or switch on the Smart TV with Freeview and find a film for everyone to watch together later on. Listen to music on the DAB radio with Bluetooth while you prepare something delicious in the kitchen area, where you have an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge with icebox, toaster and kettle. Open up the fold-out table for everyone to dine together. Have a relaxing shower in the shower room, which also has a WC and handbasin, before making your way to the double bedroom to lay your head for the night. There is also a bunk bedroom at the apartment, which has sea views.

Lovely location but small rooms. Close to amenities and perfect for popping over to the beach and getting an ice cream of course. Some aspects are looking a bit tired now and need updating but overall good for a weekend break.

Map
Note: As the postcode is used to identify the general area of the property, it may not always reflect its precise location, therefore please only use this map as a guide.

Mid-West Wales is a land full of green hills and clear seas. With the spine of the Cambrian Mountains to the east and the hidden coves of the Ceredigion coastline carving out marvellous openings all along the western shoreline, it’s a mecca for those who crave outstanding natural surroundings. There are also charming villages and quaint seaside towns dotted here and there, giving you the chance to try a regional delicacy or speak to some friendly locals.

A thriving harbour resort just within the Snowdonia National Park boundaries, Aberdovey, meaning river mouth, also lies inside Wales’ only UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, the Dyfi Biosphere. With Cader Idris looming in the distance, Aberdovey enjoys a complementary fusion of dense woodland and a golden beach where the River Dyfi meets Cardigan Bay.

Also near the River Dyfi are Pennal and Cwrt, two villages which lie on the River Sychan, which feeds the River Dyfi. Small in size but with natural grandeur, these villages have walks which provide magnificent vistas and if you’re lucky, you may even spot wild otters holding hands by the river’s edge.

Moving away from the river, you can follow the ‘Happy Valley’ which leads all the way to Tywyn. You’ll pass scenic splendour as the road twists and turns past the ‘Bearded Lake’. Tywyn is a beautiful seaside base for all types of excursions. Stroll the large, sandy beach or visit the Talyllyn Railway, that journeys deep into the hills.

We have a handpicked collection of self-catering properties along southern Snowdonia on the banks of the Dyfi Estuary. Whether it’s Aberdovey, Pennal and Cwrt or Tywyn, we’ve got dog-friendly, large, luxury and coastal accommodation to suit your needs.
