Overlooking the waterfront and located in the heart of a flourishing and picturesque coastal village, this bright, airy and cheerful holiday apartment provides a fantastic romantic couple’s getaway.

This delightful apartment makes a great holiday base for a couple enjoying all that the pretty harbour village of Aberdyfi (also known as Aberdovey) has to offer. Set along the picturesque seafront, the apartment is within easy reach of a fabulous variety of great restaurants, pubs, cafes and shops. The beach is just across the road and offers miles of golden sands, leading eventually to the picturesque seaside resort of Tywyn (4 miles). Situated along the northern bank of the beautiful River Dyfi as it flows into Cardigan Bay, Aberdyfi is known for its quaint pastel-coloured houses and its championship golf course, and is a great base for a range of outdoor activities including sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, golf and fishing.

Stepping into this light and stylish first-floor apartment, the tiled hallway has cupboard space housing the washer/dryer as well as a WC before a few steps lead up and into the bright and welcoming main open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The fresh and relaxing lounge is a delightful space to sit back and unwind at the end of a wonderful day, complete with plenty of seating, TV, DVD and fantastic views from the bay window which looks across the beach and out to sea. The dining area is perfect for sharing a romantic meal which you can rustle up in the fully equipped galley-style kitchen. Here you will find a range of useful equipment including an electric oven and hob, a fridge with a small ice compartment and a microwave. Exploring further there’s a cosy double bedroom with plenty of storage space and a handy en-suite shower room.

Although the property has no outside areas, the beach is just across the road and there are plenty of cafes nearby. You will be provided with a free car pass which can be used in Aberdyfi’s pay and display car parks, the nearest being opposite the apartment. Please note that the apartment is accessed via a wooden gate behind the property which leads up two flights of metal stairs – this staircase can become slippery when wet.

Note: As the postcode is used to identify the general area of the property, it may not always reflect its precise location, therefore please only use this map as a guide.

Mid-West Wales is a land full of green hills and clear seas. With the spine of the Cambrian Mountains to the east and the hidden coves of the Ceredigion coastline carving out marvellous openings all along the western shoreline, it’s a mecca for those who crave outstanding natural surroundings. There are also charming villages and quaint seaside towns dotted here and there, giving you the chance to try a regional delicacy or speak to some friendly locals.

A thriving harbour resort just within the Snowdonia National Park boundaries, Aberdovey, meaning river mouth, also lies inside Wales’ only UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, the Dyfi Biosphere. With Cader Idris looming in the distance, Aberdovey enjoys a complementary fusion of dense woodland and a golden beach where the River Dyfi meets Cardigan Bay.

Also near the River Dyfi are Pennal and Cwrt, two villages which lie on the River Sychan, which feeds the River Dyfi. Small in size but with natural grandeur, these villages have walks which provide magnificent vistas and if you’re lucky, you may even spot wild otters holding hands by the river’s edge.

Moving away from the river, you can follow the ‘Happy Valley’ which leads all the way to Tywyn. You’ll pass scenic splendour as the road twists and turns past the ‘Bearded Lake’. Tywyn is a beautiful seaside base for all types of excursions. Stroll the large, sandy beach or visit the Talyllyn Railway, that journeys deep into the hills.

We have a handpicked collection of self-catering properties along southern Snowdonia on the banks of the Dyfi Estuary. Whether it’s Aberdovey, Pennal and Cwrt or Tywyn, we’ve got dog-friendly, large, luxury and coastal accommodation to suit your needs.
