Enjoying an elevated position in the heart of Aberdovey, gather a group at this stunning home which boasts panoramic coastal views, close to Snowdonia National Park.

Walk down into Aberdovey, on the northern edge of the Dyfi estuary where the mountains meet the sea on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park. This peaceful village has a thriving harbour, pubs, cafés, restaurants, galleries, and independent shops to explore. On the doorstep, enjoy a range of great outdoor activities including walking, cycling, sea swimming, sailing, windsurfing, canoeing and fishing, not forgetting the championship links golf course, and the beautiful golden sandy beach. Heading into Snowdonia, landmarks include Craig yr Aderyn, a Site of Special Scientific Interest renowned for birds, and the beautiful Dolgoch Falls (both within 15 miles). This is an all-year-round destination for family, friends and dogs, too.

Walk into this creatively designed family house where you’ll find all the thoughtful little extras to enhance your stay. The hall leads to the boot room which has plenty of space for your outdoor attire and a separate WC. Continue through into the kitchen/diner with panoramic views over the town and out to the estuary and beyond. If you decide to eat in, the stylish dining area is perfect for everyone to gather around and enjoy a meal together with superb views. The kitchen area is a sociable space, well-equipped with an electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, and breakfast bar. There’s also a useful utility housing a washing machine and tumble dryer with more storage space. After dinner, relax in the lounge area with comfortable sofas and a Smart TV. Open the feature patio doors and enjoy the decked balcony, letting the outside in and embracing the views of the Dyfi Estuary and out across Cardigan Bay. Downstairs, there is a games room with a football table, sofa, Smart TV and access to the lower sub-tropical garden. There are four gorgeous bedrooms to choose from: three doubles and a twin, all benefiting from lovely sea views. All have been designed with a good night’s sleep in mind. Completing the accommodation is the fabulous bathroom with a large walk-in shower, freestanding bath, and a WC. If you prefer, use the separate shower room with a dressing room, a shower and a WC – either are lovely spaces for enjoying a leisurely start to the day.

Contemporary outside spaces include an enclosed paved area with furniture and a wash-down area for bikes. There’s also the large, decked balcony (on the first floor, accessed from the house) with a table, chairs, a gas BBQ, and fabulous far-reaching coastal views. You’ll also find private parking for four cars and plenty of storage for bikes, paddleboards and canoes.

Fantastic outside areas with amazing views, which we loved. Excellent facilities, comfortable bedding and we loved the split level design. The only downside was the very, very steep walk back up to the property from the Main Street, which my wife struggled with. The property took a lot of finding, due to the sign for Garth Road being hidden in the Read morehedgerow, We had the most relaxing and comfortable holiday in a long time. Hide

Location

Map
Note: As the postcode is used to identify the general area of the property, it may not always reflect its precise location, therefore please only use this map as a guide.

Mid-West Wales is a land full of green hills and clear seas. With the spine of the Cambrian Mountains to the east and the hidden coves of the Ceredigion coastline carving out marvellous openings all along the western shoreline, it’s a mecca for those who crave outstanding natural surroundings. There are also charming villages and quaint seaside towns dotted here and there, giving you the chance to try a regional delicacy or speak to some friendly locals.

A thriving harbour resort just within the Snowdonia National Park boundaries, Aberdovey, meaning river mouth, also lies inside Wales’ only UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, the Dyfi Biosphere. With Cader Idris looming in the distance, Aberdovey enjoys a complementary fusion of dense woodland and a golden beach where the River Dyfi meets Cardigan Bay.

Also near the River Dyfi are Pennal and Cwrt, two villages which lie on the River Sychan, which feeds the River Dyfi. Small in size but with natural grandeur, these villages have walks which provide magnificent vistas and if you’re lucky, you may even spot wild otters holding hands by the river’s edge.

Moving away from the river, you can follow the ‘Happy Valley’ which leads all the way to Tywyn. You’ll pass scenic splendour as the road twists and turns past the ‘Bearded Lake’. Tywyn is a beautiful seaside base for all types of excursions. Stroll the large, sandy beach or visit the Talyllyn Railway, that journeys deep into the hills.

We have a handpicked collection of self-catering properties along southern Snowdonia on the banks of the Dyfi Estuary. Whether it’s Aberdovey, Pennal and Cwrt or Tywyn, we’ve got dog-friendly, large, luxury and coastal accommodation to suit your needs.
