Crabbers Rest is a quaint and compact seaside apartment located in the heart of Aberdovey / Aberdyfi, overlooking the harbour gardens and green.

Situated near the Dovey Inn and Britannia Inn, shops, restaurants and all amenities and only a short walk away from the Penhelig Arms Hotel.  The Crabbers Rest is only a stone's throw away from the beach, jetty (for your crabbing), water sports, and beautiful mountain walks and located next to the Welsh Coastal Path.

Crabbers Rest is ideally placed for Aberdovey's /Aberdyfi's local attractions with good hill walking at your front door, a four-mile sandy beach, a championship links Aberdovey Golf Club and great places to eat and drink.

Further afield you can explore the Ynys-Hir RSPB Reserve which is a wildlife haven in the heart of Wales, made famous by the BBC Spring Watch programme, The Dyfi Osprey Project (please follow the link to watch live: http://www.dyfiospreyproject.com/live-streaming), The Ceredigion Heritage Coast along Cardigan Bay, the Cambrian Mountains and not forgetting the lakes, small towns and villages, picturesque resorts and harbours.

The apartment has been tastefully refurbished offering modern amenities, whilst retaining some of its original features which give this delightful property its character and charm.

Sleeps 4 guests in 1 double bedroom and 1 twin bedroom (single beds are 2ft 6ins wide).

First Floor

Stairs from the ground floor lead up to an open plan living/dining and kitchen area. The stairs are steep and angled with a limited handrail leading to the first floor. May be unsuitable for those with limited mobility.

Living/dining area - A compact living room with carpet flooring. Open fireplace with enclosed electric fired coal effect burner. Dining table (can be extended) 3 chairs and window seat with views overlooking the Dovey Estuary. 2 x two-seater sofas,  LCD TV with Freeview and DVD player. 

Kitchen -  Fitted kitchen, with a compact dishwasher, fridge/freezer, electric oven and gas hob, kettle, toaster, microwave.

Shower room – Walk-in shower, washbasin and toilet.

Stairs to the Second Floor- The steep angled stairs with a limited handrail lead to the second floor. May be unsuitable for those with limited mobility.

Second Floor

Bedroom 1 – Double bedroom (the bed is 4ft), chest of draws and a small wardrobe hanging space.

Bedroom 2 – Twin bedroom with chest of the drawers and hanging space (2 x single beds 2ft 6ins).

Aberdyfi / Aberdovey

The picturesque harbour village of Aberdyfi / Aberdovey is renowned for its mild climate, sandy beaches, sailing and a championship 18-hole links golf course (rated in the UK's top 100). The village is often referred to as “an artist's paradise” with its pastel-coloured cottages, small shops, inns and excellent restaurants which specialise in local seafood, all helping to create a relaxed welcoming atmosphere.

Aberdyfi / Aberdovey boasts some of the finest beaches in Britain, with four miles of golden sand-dune backed shoreline running north to Tywyn, home of the world-famous Talyllyn narrow gauge Steam Railway, crab fishing and the famous Dyfi Donkeys. The beaches are popular with sunbathers, swimmers, surfers and fishermen while the estuary attracts a wide range of water sports enthusiasts.

The peaks of the Cader Idris and Aran Fawddwy ranges are within easy reach and are complemented by the charm of the Dyfi, Dysynni and Tal y Llyn valleys nearby. An ideal area for walkers, climbers and wildlife watchers, and a wonderful all-year-round location.

Information about your holiday rental

Booking and Payment

Dyfi Cottages & Aberdyfi Holidays is a marketing agency and we do not own or manage any of the accommodation listed on our websites. Bookings made via us form a legal agreement between you and the property owner.

For bookings made more than 8 weeks before arrival, a 30% deposit of the total cost of the holiday is required at the time of booking. The balance is then due 8 weeks before the holiday commences.

For bookings made less than 8 weeks before arrival, the total amount is payable at the time of booking.

Security Deposit

Security deposits are not normally required. Please note that guests are still liable for any damage, breakages or additional cleaning required as a result of their actions.

Arrival & Departure times

Arrival time is from 5 pm / Departure time is no later than 09.30 am.

Short Breaks

Short breaks are available out of season and can be booked for a minimum of 3 nights from the following days:

  • Friday to Monday for a 3-night weekend break
  • Monday to Friday for a 4-night midweek break

During November to February arrival days may be more flexible nearer the time although these exclude Sundays and any holidays.

Bed Linen

Bed linen and towels are provided.

Heating & Electric

Heating and electric are included in the accommodation price.

Infant facilities

Sorry, there are no infant facilities available.

Pets

Two well-behaved small dogs are welcome at an additional cost of £25 each (to be kept in lounge area only).

Wi-Fi 

Complimentary Wi-Fi is available. The owner cannot guarantee the availability or speed of the service as this is dependent on third party suppliers.

Parking 

There is one free car pass provided in the apartment for the Aberdyfi ‘Pay & Display’ car parks. The nearest one is approximately 200 metres from the apartment, next to the beach (spaces are subject to availability). The car pass can also be used in the ‘Pay & Display’ car park in Penhelig. 

Important Note -The free car pass provided is NOT for the parking area opposite the apartment. 

Access, Health and Safety

The apartment is located on the main street and the road can get quite busy especially during the peak holiday season. Please ensure you supervise children when exiting the property.

There are steep and angled stairs in the apartment which may be unsuitable for guests with limited mobility.  

Please contact us immediately if there are any specific needs you may have, including disability needs. It is essential that we are given as much information as possible about your requirements to avoid booking an unsuitable property. Some locations do not lend themselves to easy access or facilities, so please ask first to avoid disappointment.

The choice is ultimately the responsibility of the person booking the property, and we cannot be held responsible should a property be booked that is either unsuitable or inappropriate.

Location 

The property is in the centre of the village and there can be some associated noise during busier times.

Photographs - In order to provide you with as much detail of the properties as possible, we sometimes use wide-angle photography, which can make certain rooms or spaces appear larger than they actually are. If you have any queries regarding the size of any rooms, please do not hesitate to contact us.
