The small hamlet of Cwrt stands on the edge of the beautiful Happy Valley, located between the ancient town of Machynlleth and the picturesque coastal village of Aberdyfi near the southern tip of the Snowdonia National Park. Aberdyfi is renowned for its mild climate, sandy beaches, sailing and a championship 18-hole links golf course. The village is often referred to as an "artist's paradise" with its pastel coloured cottages, small shops, inns and excellent restaurants which specialise in local seafood, and it boasts some of the finest beaches in Britain, with four miles of golden sand-dune backed shoreline running north to Tywyn. The beaches are popular with sunbathers, swimmers, surfers and fishermen while the estuary attracts a wide range of water sports enthusiasts.

The peaks of the Cader Idris and Aran Fawddwy ranges are within easy reach and are complemented by the charm of the Dyfi, Dysynni and Tal y Llyn valleys nearby. An ideal area for walkers, climbers and wildlife watchers, and a wonderful all-year-round location.

Comments from the Visitors' Book

“Relaxed and rejuvenated!” I felt instantly at home I met my parents here and we had an amazing stay, and I would highly recommend. Stunning views in a wonderful location to explore this area of Wales. The house was really relaxed with excellent facilities! I felt as soon as I hit the first gate excited and when I got to the house I was blown away. Aberdovey is beautiful and was so friendly- perfect dog walking on the beach. Machynlleth was also lovely to visit to explore some antique shops. Although it was hard to tear us away from the house. We had every intention to eat out sometimes, but the weather was so glorious that we felt we had to take advantage of eating in the garden and watching the stars go down with wine. This farmhouse is very special! I cannot wait to visit again!

A beautifully appointed traditional farmhouse cottage in a truly remote rural location. A lovely property with plenty of space. Our party was made up of 8 adults and one 18 months old. The bunk beds are comfortable enough for adults of medium build. The property has plenty of equipment to cater for all situations. A good BBQ in the garden was great as the weather was kind to us. WiFi is available which was not initially evident in the online literature! We were also able to get a phone signal. There is a fairly easy walk to the village where the pub serves reasonable food. For the more active, walks in the surrounding area can be challenging. An ideal get away from its spot which we would recommend to anyone. The owners are very helpful and have to commended for making our stay ideal.

Amazing location.. Didn't want to leave! My family and I have just got home from an incredible week staying in this beautiful house. It was so cosy, a real home from home! Waking up to see Buzzards and Ospreys flying around was amazing! A bird lovers paradise! We couldn't have asked for a better location. When we arrived, we were greeted with a wonderful welcome pack including cake, wine, eggs, jam and bread! We will definitely be returning in the next couple of years.. hopefully, next year! WE LOVED IT!!!!

I wanted to write to say thank you so much!
We just had the most amazing weekend, the house is unbelievably beautiful and perfectly equipped for anything anybody could ever need. It's utterly wonderful. We had some lovely walks and some very peaceful times playing games by the fire. We only ever went into the Comedy Festival when we absolutely had to as we got too comfortable and never wanted to leave! Thanks again, for everything. Charlotte x

Fantastic location, outstanding views and fabulous cottage!
This cottage has been renovated to top quality. It is a brilliant place to go with either family, friends or couples. There are lovely walks around and only 15-minute drive to Aberdovey beach, which is great for parking too. We had fantastic weather but even if we hadn't of, we wouldn't of minded just staying in the cottage and chilling as it was so beautiful inside and around. Its home from home but with fab scenery around. The cottage is well equipped for everyone, we cooked in the wonderful kitchen and also had a BBQ outside and everything was to hand. We will defiantly be booking to stay here again, as a family we all enjoyed it so much. We really didn't want to leave. Yes, I would defiantly recommend this fabulous cottage to stay.

Stunning farmhouse in idyllic surroundings
If you are looking for the perfect holiday retreat in peaceful and tranquil surroundings then this is the farmhouse to book. The owners have put an enormous amount of thought and effort into making this farmhouse a place that you will want to revisit year after year. The views from every window are breathtaking overlooking the River Dyfi. I stayed with my wife, our two children and my parents and two dogs and there was something to appeal to everyone. The children especially enjoyed the football table in the games room. There is no need to worry about forgetting to take items with you as this farmhouse is well equipped and there is nothing you could ask for that they haven't already supplied. We enjoyed our long weekend stay immensely and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others as we were reluctant to leave. We will definitely be booking to go back. We would like to thank the owners for sharing their beautiful farmhouse with us.

What a lovely few days we had at Glan-y-Morfa!
Having looked at the website (which itself is extremely good) my expectations were high, and yet I was still completely delighted by the cottage when we arrived. The map, with description and photographs, were the best and most useful set of directions that I have had when locating a property - thank you. The location is stunning, the property itself is charming and the way in which it has been renovated and decorated is sensitive, tasteful and wholly appropriate. It felt loved.

It was also kitted out really thoughtfully; every time we thought of something we needed we were able to find it. The only time we needed to improvise was in sweeping out the ashes from the fire (which we put in a coal-scuttle). We didn't use any additional logs other than those provided in the basket. The beds were extremely comfortable (mercifully!) and the whole cottage felt clean and well looked after. Attention to detail was easily spotted throughout.

I really cannot fault any aspect of our experience or offer any suggestions for improvement. I do hope Glan-y-Morfa is somewhere the children and I will be able to visit for years to come.
