Property code: DY038

An appealing, waterside holiday home, opposite a small beach and looking out over the River Dyfi in the Welsh seaside village of Aberdyfi, within Snowdonia National Park.

Lose yourselves in the views over the Dyfi Estuary when you stay at this four-bedroom cottage in Aberdyfi. Sleeping up to eight guests, and also welcoming one dog, the four-storey property suits an extended family or two families seeking a Welsh break together. Wander less than 500 metres to the village’s main, 3-mile long sandy beach, where you can swim, surf and go paddle boarding. Pick up the Welsh Coast Path and walk 4 miles to Tywyn, looking out for dolphins and porpoises in Cardigan Bay as you go. Head 10 miles into Snowdonia to see the picturesque Dolgoch Falls.

Climb four steps up and enter to find bright and airy accommodation. Discover a lounge/diner, where you can relax in comfort together after your fun days out and take in the views through the bay window. Settle on the sofas to watch a film on the TV or DVD player or sit round the table to enjoy a game of cards together. Wander through into the kitchen, with its electric oven and hob, microwave, washing machine, fridge, dishwasher, toaster and kettle, to make hearty meals for your party. Find an additional fridge in the cupboard under the stairs. Dine together in style at the long table in the dining room. Venture up to the first floor to find a second lounge, also with a magnificent outlook. Enjoy something different on the DVD player or TV up here. A twin bedroom is also on this floor. Continue to the second floor to lay your head in either a twin bedroom, or a double, which looks out over the water. The family bathroom, with bath, separate WC and handbasin, is also on this level. Follow the steep, cottage-style stairs up to the fourth floor to discover another double bedroom, with small WC. This beautiful room has sloped ceilings and low beams. Please note, there is also a raised beam along the floor.

There is a small rear yard at the cottage – please note it is not enclosed. Cross the road to the narrow beach to sit out in the sunshine. There is no parking at the property but a pass for the pay and display car parks of Aberdyfi is provided.

House is in a perfect location right on the front street with views to die for. Great for paddle boarding or walking to the local restaurants. Downside is the property itself, it does need a bit of TLC to update the decor etc very old fashioned.

1 Glyndwr provides comfortable accommodation in a stunning location, although it would benefit from modernisation / decorating. Watching the tidal estuary and mountains from the south-facing windows was really special. The main beach in Aberdyfi and all the amenities are within walking distance. Highly recommend driving to nearby attractions like DRead moreolgoch Falls, Birds Rock, Castell y Bere, and Machynlleth. Hide

A really lovely period house and in a great location, stunning views across the Dyfi. The two living rooms are cosy and beautifully decorated. If you have not visited Aberdyfi before you are in for a treat, and this is a great base. It does need updating in places, the kitchen is very small considering the place sleeps eight, quite a contrast to thRead moree large rooms and high ceilings in the rest of the property. Hide
